Our Nominating Committee is currently on the look-out for people ready to answer the call and help promote quality community theatre throughout Nebraska.
Okay, we know everyone is super busy and no one wants to start going to more meetings. You are probably wondering what kind of commitment you making if interested in running for the NACT Board. Good question!
The NACT Board meets at least twice a year. Meetings are held at various locations, usually at a theatre and we try to coincide with attending a show. We know Nebraska is a big state (geographically) so getting to a meeting location can be tricky. For that reason we do allow Board members to attend meetings via conference call, or online web video call.
The biggest project of the organization every two years is our State Festival. The next festival will be held in March, 2019.
Other tasks of the Board include producing this newsletter, connecting with new theatres and letting them know NACT exists, re-connecting with theatres who might have forgotten about us, and generally being a resource for information sharing and networking for volunteers and theatre staffers all over the state.
Board members are elected to two-year terms, and may be re-elected. Each year there are five Board positions up for election.
Beginning this election cycle, ballots will be mailed to all eligible members. Election for Board Members will not be held at the annual membership meeting.
